TBR Football understands that Brentford have told Newcastle United they want £60 million for Yoane Wissa.

Newcastle hoped to announce Wissa over the weekend, but now a further spanner has been thrown in the works following the Bees’ latest demands.

Brentford’s signing of Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth looked set to accelerate the deal, but the West London club are continuing to stand firm over the Congolese attacker.

Brentford have now told Yoane Wissa that Ouattara is seen as a replacement for Bryan Mbuemo, meaning he will have to continue his wait before a move to Newcastle, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.

Brentford have seen their team torn apart over the summer, having lost Mbuemo to Man United, Christian Norgaard to Arsenal and Thomas Frank to Tottenham.

Eddie Howe’s team are now looking to take Wissa, but Brentford remain eager to keep hold of the striker, especially after their defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Keith Andrews’ side suffered a 3-1 defeat away at the City Ground during his first game in charge of the Bees, in what was a rather disappointing start.

Wissa has been refusing to train with Brentford in a bid to force through a move to the North East, and he also missed their first Premier League game of the season.

Newcastle will not be paying £60 million for Wissa and will start looking elsewhere should Brentford continue to stand firm over their new asking price.

Jackson missed Chelsea’s draw against Crystal Palace due to suspension, although Joao Pedro and Liam Delap are now both ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Blues are open to selling the Senegalese striker as they continue to move for other targets, like Xavi Simons.

Jackson would not be enough for the Toon to release Isak though, as they are after two centre forwards this summer, having lost Callum Wilson.
