League One clubs circle ‘outstanding’ Portsmouth star he’s ‘not in their plans’.
Now that the second phase of the summer transfer window is open, EFL Analysis can reveal that multiple League One clubs want to sign Portsmouth attacker Christian Saydee.
Portsmouth fans were generally proud of their team during the 2024/25 campaign, as John Mousinho led his side to a 16th-place finish in the Championship following promotion in 2024.
The hardest part for Pompey will be consolidating their position in the second tier, and to do so, a flawless transfer strategy will need to be conducted.
We exclusively revealed earlier this month that Sheffield Wednesday attacker Jamal Lowe is of interest to Portsmouth, and it could be a case of one in, one out at Fratton Park as another player is attracting attention from elsewhere.

League One clubs are interested in Portsmouth attacker Christian Saydee
As per information from our Chief Football Correspondent, Graeme Bailey, EFL Analysis can reveal that forward Christian Saydee is not a part of their plans and is being chased by multiple League One clubs.
Plymouth Argyle, who sold Ryan Hardie to Wrexham, are one team mentioned, and he has also been offered to the likes of Wigan Athletic, Rotherham United and Peterborough United.
Bailey also adds that Saydee is on ‘decent money’, and only a few clubs could afford his signature, which is why some of the division’s big hitters are showing an interest.
Saydee was on the periphery of the action for Pompey in 2024/25, with the 23-year-old coming off the bench in 19 of his 29 appearances while scoring just three goals.
A powerful and pacy centre-forward, the Englishman is better suited to clubs in the division below, where his chances for minutes would be heavily increased.

What Scott Parker once said about Saydee
Saydee started his professional career with Bournemouth but only made two senior appearances for the Cherries before joining Pompey two years ago for an undisclosed fee.
Interestingly, the youngster’s period breaking into the first team coincided with Scott Parker’s period at the club, who handed him a start in a Carabao Cup clash against Norwich City in August 2022.
Only aged 20 at the time, Parker was left impressed by Saydee’s involvement as he helped to create the first goal and slotted in an ice-cool penalty during the shootout.
Speaking after Bournemouth’s victory over Norwich, the current Burnley boss said of Saydee: “I thought he was brilliant,” he told Dorset Live.
“I thought he was superb. You often find when you’re young, you get opportunities when you least expect them. When those opportunities come, you’ve got to try and take them.
“He certainly took one tonight. He got called in the warm-up, led the line. First half, he caused them all sorts of problems. He should probably have scored. He was involved in the first. Very, very pleased with Christian. He’s done outstanding tonight.”
