Celtic hero Matt O’Riley’s career is still followed by much of the Parkhead support since his big move to Brighton last summer.
The Denmark international was a hugely popular figure amongst the Celtic supporters as O’Riley’s skill on the pitch was only matched by his humility off it.
Injury curtailed O’Riley’s start at Brighton after a horror tackle on the former Celtic man’s debut at The Seagulls kept him out for months.
Now back in the first-team squad, O’Riley’s Brighton return has been marked with some great cameo performances against Man City and his former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham.
However, speculation around the Hoops hero’s future at the south coast club has been circulating and after an update by Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, it looks like Celtic hero O’Riley is still attracting some serious attention.

Everton face ‘big competition’ from Serie A for Celtic hero Matt O’Riley
O’Riley is one of Celtic’s most expensive transfer sales of all time after he made his £25m move to the Premier League last summer.
After just 23 appearances for Brighton, it appears that O’Riley could be on the move after Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas said the former Celtic man’s future at Brighton is ‘unclear’.
Thomas said on X, “Everton would be keen on Matt O’Riley if Brighton give any indication they would sell him this summer.
If O’Riley does make another big move how much could Celtic be compensated with after a sell-on clause was inserted into the Brighton deal?
How much Celtic could get if Brighton sell Matt O’Riley
The Celtic Way reported that Celtic inserted a 10% sell-on clause for O’Riley should he move on for more cash down the line.
If Brighton recoup the £25m they paid the Parkhead club then Celtic could receive £2.5m.
However, it all depends on how much clubs are willing to pay and how many want the talented Dane. If Thomas is correct and there are clubs from Italy’s top flight and the Premier League wanting O’Riley, a bidding war could help ensure Celtic get as much money from the sell-on clause as they possibly can.
