Nottingham Forest suffered a bruising 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, however, there is still plenty to be proud of.
Despite missing out on the Champions League and Europa League, Nottingham Forest can still look back at the season with immense pride.
Many tipped them to be in a relegation dogfight, but they’ve ended the season in seventh place on 65 points, which still qualifies them for the UEFA Conference League.

Now, the focus will be on the summer transfer window, and Evangelos Marinakis is planning to invest heavily in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

Now, Anthony Elanga has just taken to social media and posted a cryptic message.

Anthony Elanga has enjoyed a sensational season for the Tricky Trees, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by other Premier League teams.

There have been rumours that Manchester United want to re-sign Elanga, whilst Newcastle United also have a long-standing interest.
Forest will reportedly be tempted into a sale if a £43m bid is lodged, though, that seems wide of the mark.
Anyhow, Elanga has now posted a cryptic message on Instagram which could hint that he wants to stay at the City Ground.
He wrote: “Still on a mission… thanks for the continuous support.” It was accompanied by a tree emoji and a red love heart.
Crucially, ‘still on a mission’ could be interpreted as if he wants to continue with the East Midlanders, but that’s just speculation at this point.

Forest won’t need to sell Elanga
Previously at Forest, there has been an acceptance that they need to sell to stay in line with the PSR limits.
Whilst that may remain the case, with Morgan Gibbs-White seemingly on his way to Manchester City, there is absolutely no need to sanction any more sales.
Gibbs-White is expected to command a £70m transfer fee, so the club will be in a sturdy position to reinvest that cash and some.
That makes it much easier to retain the likes of Elanga and Murillo, who may previously have been moved on, like Brennan Johnson for instance.
The Tricky Trees will hold the cards this summer especially considering they have the appeal of European football.
